Re-opening St. Paul's Lutheran Church

Dear saints of St. Paul’s,

It is with joy and thanksgiving and praise that we are informing you of in-person Worship Services.  We will begin June 7 at 10:15.  As we begin we will be learning new ways of what it means to gather together, not in respect to God, but as we live in this Covid-19 world.  It will take some time getting used to.

Here are some details/protocols as we begin with necessary and cautious care as we follow the CDC guidelines.  Please read these guidelines to keep each other safe.

All directives are temporary and subject to change and will be modified as the situation changes.
  • Those who are symptomatic or who have been exposed to another with the virus within 14 days are not permitted to enter the church. Members of the same household are to remain home as well.
  • Before coming to church, everyone is requested to take their temperature at home. If a person’s temperature is at or above 100.4 (CDC guideline) they and members of their household must remain at home.
  • Those who are not comfortable being in public for any reason at this time are also encouraged to remain home. Live-streamed Services will continue. (please visit Facebook Fellowship of St. Paul)

  • It is appropriate for people to wear face coverings/masks at this time, and thus the faithful are strongly encouraged to wear them. Parents should consider health guidelines and then use their judgment regarding whether small children can or should wear them.  Face coverings/masks are for one’s own protection and to protect other people.
  • Please maintain a 6-foot distance in every direction from others. Family units may sit together without distancing among themselves.
  • There will be no offertory or collection during Service. Please place your envelope in a basket in the narthex.
  • Remember social distancing when exiting the church.
  • There will not be a greeting line after Service.
  • The church will be sanitized after Services.

  • Holy Communion will be on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.
  • Please bring your own hand sanitizer – it should be used before and after receiving Holy Communion.
  • Ushers will assist in setting up the lines for Holy Communion. More information along with how to receive will be announced before Service.
  • Pastor and Elder will be wearing a mask.
  • The consecrated elements for each “family group” will be placed on a plate.
  • Pastor will say “Take, eat” and “Take, drink” while distanced and then he will approach the communicants (family group).
  • For Holy Communion only individual cups will be used.
  • Communicants will approach in the (usual) continuous line, remember social distancing.

We thank you for your cooperation in these different times.  We, like you, are excited to resume our in-person Services.  We realize that not everyone will be ready to return to Services in June, especially those with underlying health concerns.  That’s one reason we will continue to livestream.
We pray that God continues to be with us as we seek to glorify His name, remembering the Sabbath day and keeping it holy.  Please call the church or pastor with concerns and questions. Thank you.
In His peace and joy,
Pastor Muhle and Elders (Jimmie Adams, Bill Britt, Don Holzheuer, Ed Karn, Jerry Peters, Bill Scheiwe)
